| Fit2race drivers Matt Griffin and Peter Bamford will start round 4 of the Avon Tyres British GT championship from 2nd on the grid. Racing this weekend at weather affected Knockhill in the second meet of the year, the pairing have followed on from the strong showing at the last round at Oulton Park. Matt was pipped to the pole by Allan Simonsen with a last lap of 50.806 snatching the pole from the CHAD racing pair by 0.103s. Matt threw down the gauntlet to Simonsen by moving into 2nd place on his first lap out. On the next lap Griffin became the first driver to post a sub 51 second lap with a time of 50.939s to move into provisional pole position. Simonsen didn't seem to have an answer to Griffins lap but then on the final lap the Dane put in a 50.806s lap to take the pole position at the final gasp. |
